08 · Data, privacy, and synchronisation
As with other IMEs, your latest commits are retained in memory, and you can store names and words that you use daily in your user dictionary. Where marinaMoji attempts to improve on this classical model is in two respects. First, marinaMoji offers a shortcut key—or the toolbar Add word button—to open a pre-filled add-word dialog from your current conversion (including the history candidate you have highlighted with Tab) or from your last commit, in three simple steps. Second, marinaMoji allows you to synchronise your user dictionary and commit history across your devices using an encrypted file synchronised via a third party cloud service, so that no one, except you, has access to your typing data.
